Proctor Passages
Dear praying brothers and sisters;
Thank you so much for your prayers for our family’s travels over the past week. It’s been quite a ride, and we were keenly aware of the prayers on our behalf.
Meredith started feeling badly last Tuesday, before we left Mbale. We took her to the hospital on 3 different occasions to test her for malaria, but all 3 came back “negative” John Knox started feeling badly on Friday, and again a malaria test came back negative. By Sunday (the day prior to our departure from Uganda) I started feeling badly.
We flew out Monday morning from Entebbe, and arrived in Charlotte, at our hotel, at 2:00am Wednesday morning. After 4 hours of sleep, we took the kids to the apartment that Redeemer OPC has located and completely furnished for us. One of the ladies from Redeemer met us here and watched the kids whilst Meredith and myself made it for a 10:00 am appointment with her surgeon. Her surgery is scheduled for the morning of June 30th.
Yesterday (Thursday) we were feeling absolutely horrid, so we went to a local doctor who ran a battery of tests. This afternoon (Friday), his office called us and said that Meredith, John Knox, and myself all have malaria. Lord willing, we will be able to recover quickly with the right medications.
