Christian Giving of Tithes and Offerings
Christ has bestowed upon His grateful people the privilege of giving tithes and offerings. In encouraging the Corinthians with the gathering of a special offering, the Apostle Paul reminded them that our giving must be willing and eager, ‘…for God loves a cheerful giver.’ (2 Corinthians 9.7)
Our Directory for Church Membership and Christian Living gives the following guidance.
The church member must support the church with tithes and offerings as God has provided on a regular basis. According to the Holy Scripture, tithing is 10% of an individual’s income and offerings are freely given beyond the tithe. (H 3:2 U)
We bring our tithes and offerings each Lord’s Day when we gather together for worship, following the pattern described by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 16.1–2, ‘…as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper….’
In addition, we provide a way to give electronically through the secure Tithe.ly giving portal.
