In this class we discuss same-sex couples’ demands in relation to adoption and foster parenting. We reply by reviewing the meaning of ‘parent’ as it is dependent on the meaning of marriage. These are not arbitrary definitions that we may affix to anything we wish. We discussed other questions regarding legal demands to accommodate others and anti-discrimination laws, and we finished our discussion of the Supreme Court cases discussed last week.
